Begin Again

A new moon. A new beginning. I love new beginnings. They feel like a blank canvas ready to be painted on with all the colors. A new moon turns an ordinary day into something special and full of possibilities. Something ends so something can begin.

Every new beginning is another beginning’s end. Even the beginnings that faltered and petered out have a chance for resuscitation at moments like this. The wise one gets up one more time to try again. The dreamer finds the one thing that feels magical and then blows away the dust and polishes it until it shines.

Begin again, sweet dreamers. One more time. Yes, you can.

I write this blog for dreamers. Daydream dreamers and believers. We are the ones who aren’t afraid to imagine a gentler and kinder world.

I wonder… what will this week’s new beginning hold for you, beloved dreamer?

Here are my three simple thoughts on new beginnings, distilled for this day:

Forgiveness. Endings clear the slate. The canvas is blank, ready to paint upon again.

Art. The brush that paints the magic of both light and shadow on the canvas is living on the full spectrum of life.

Love. Love yourself unconditionally, for the wise man falls down sometimes, but gets up again each time. The measure is not in falling but in the subsequent rising. Rise again and love again.

What are your three simple things?
