Steady On

Do you sometimes feel like a stranger in a stranger land? Do you ever wonder where the ground went while you surf the current storm?

Some days I don’t recognize any of the signposts or landmarks around me. It’s like the world is a foreign land, and I can’t remember how I got here, much less the date. Everything I thought I knew was solid has become shifting sand, blowing in the wind.

Ever felt that way?

Steady on, dear one. Steady on.

And breathe…

I wonder… when nothing makes much sense, how can we be more proactive than simply resilient?

When my dreams are my focus point, I find the options begin to open up. Clarity can come in the least expected of ways. It’s way better than looking down at the yawning chasm below me where the ground used to be and panicking.

Imagination is my best tonic for the fear of heights. Looking up to the clouds steadies the gaze and the queasiness.

The tonic for today, distilled down to three simple thoughts:

Look up.

Imagine your dream.

And then steady on.
