Believer-shame

Daydream believers are often derided and mocked for not living in the real world. I call it ‘believer-shame.’ I know both the pain of believer-shame and the bliss of dreaming my dreams. Seems like they go hand in hand sometimes, like two sides of one thing.

Oh to create a world where dreamers are safe from derision.

I wonder…have you suffered believer-shame?

Dreamers dream of a gentler world. It’s that simple. There is no shame in that.

This is how we create a life we love: In each moment, in each breath, we purposefully choose the better feeling thought, direction, the path that is full of peace and light. No matter what, we make that choice. No matter what.

No matter what.

Yes, it is a magical place to be. But that is just the point, dreamers believe in magic. It’s what we do. We see what could be, what will be, what is possible. We dwell in the land of potentiality. It is only in that mindset that magic flows. It doesn’t come in cynicism or skepticism or practicality. Or logic. You won’t find magic in any of those places. It won’t flow there because it is blocked there.

So leave the skepticism to the skeptics, the criticism to the critics, and the cynicism to the cynics. Go your own way. The way that is natural to a dreamer is to imagine what could be and keep moving toward it. That’s how new worlds are created.

Yes, it means leaving some things and people behind you. But the belief in magic is the most sacred part of you, the holiest of holies, so don’t let go of it.

The tonic, distilled to three simple things for today: Dreamers dream of a gentler world. It’s that simple. There is no shame in that.
